Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you provide services?

At this time, my practice is fully remote via a HIPPA compliant virtual platform. Due to licensing laws, I can only see clients in the state of California. It’s important to note that virtual therapy is not always a good fit for everyone, and that’s okay! If you’re unsure and would like to learn more, book a consultation call. From there, we can explore what would make you feel most comfortable.

Do you provide services in Spanish?

At this point, I am not able to offer sessions fully in Spanish. While I can completely understand the language, I do not feel that I would be giving my clients the best service in my current level of fluency. Sometimes relying completely on the English language just doesn’t cut it for all clients. For this reason, I do a lot of sessions in Spanglish with my bilingual clients. If you’re in search of a therapist who can conduct sessions fully in Spanish, check out Latinx Therapy. They have features that allow you to filter Spanish-speaking therapists.

Do you accept insurance?

At this time, I am not on any insurance boards, but I am able to provide superbills. If you’d like to learn more about superbills, click here. I realize that this can be a significant barrier for attending therapy. If you are in need of a low-cost option please see my resource page.

What is your therapeutic approach?

I work from a decarceral, anti-oppressive framework. Over the years, I’ve worked and been trained in a variety of modalities. Along the way, I’ve learned what modalities align with me, and which ones don’t. While I have training and experience in modalities such as dialectical behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy, I lean more towards a relational, eclectic approach. This means I work from a lens that highly values and views the therapeutic relationship as a source of healing.

What should I expect from a consult call?

A consult call is a 15 to 20 minute phone call or virtual meeting to get a chance to connect with each other, and see if we are a good fit. This is a chance for you to ask questions that feel important to you and for me to understand a little bit more about what you are looking for in a therapist.

What are therapy sessions with you like?

Therapy sessions with me typically look very casual. I’m a firm believer in honoring how a client wants to show up. I believe that there is more than one way to have a therapeutic experience. If you’d like to learn more about the various ways clients use our session time together, ask me in our consult call!
